Head of Quantitative Research. 9+ years of experience building and deploying production ML solutions across fintech, marketplaces, investment analytics, and public-sector projects. Developed 50+ models used by more than 9 million users, covering NLP, computer vision, time-series forecasting, recommendation systems, fraud detection, and predictive modelling. Experienced in taking ML products from data preparation and experimentation through deployment, monitoring, and scalable production infrastructure.

I earned my Ph.D. in Math from Hiroshima University in 2008. After a brief stint in the oil and gas industry, I found my way back to academia, joining Nazarbayev University in 2011. There, I began researching machine learning and NLP, eventually focusing on deep neural networks. In 2023, I joined Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW). My current research explores how modern AI systems memorize, generalize, and use probabilistic models. At both universities, I’ve designed and taught a wide range of courses across statistics and machine learning.
