Experience

Researcher

UMAY R&D

Feb 2025 — Present

Conducts power-engineering research and publication work, and develops LSTM/CNN solar-generation forecasting models.

• Conducts scientific research projects in power engineering, including literature analysis; writes scientific reports, journal articles, and presentations; and manages the publication cycle from submission through reviewer feedback to acceptance. • Prepares applications for utility-model and software patents and develops grant proposals. • Develops and deploys hybrid LSTM and CNN models to forecast photovoltaic solar power generation using historical data from solar power plants in southern Kazakhstan.

Research Assistant

iDSN lab at Nazarbayev University

Oct 2022 — Jan 2025

Measured and modeled 60 GHz mmWave path loss under harsh-weather and indoor conditions, then simulated campus coverage in MATLAB.

• Designed and investigated a superheterodyne system for a 60 GHz mmWave channel. • Conducted experiments with 60 GHz baseband signals using Keysight equipment to model path loss behavior in harsh weather conditions. • Collected experimental data and identified path-loss parameters for harsh-weather and indoor environments. • Simulated 60 GHz channel path-loss coverage in MATLAB over Nazarbayev University.

Circuit Design Engineer

NTS Design

May 2022 — Oct 2022

Designed and assembled circuit boards for audio and video hardware.

• Designed circuit schematics and PCBs, and assembled and soldered PCBs for audio and video hardware solutions.

Selected projects

MMWAVE PATH LOSS MODELING FOR 5G APPLICATIONS

MSc thesis work: designed and investigated a 60 GHz superheterodyne system for mmWave channels; conducted hardware experiments to model path loss in harsh-weather and indoor environments; simulated path-loss coverage in MATLAB for Nazarbayev University.

Deep Learning-Based Fairy Tale Generator

Bachelor capstone: built an automatic fairy-tale generator using an LSTM neural network. Gathered and tokenized a dataset, sequenced and vectorized tokens, split data into input and target matrices, and trained a five-layer model (Embedding, two LSTM, and two Dense layers). The model preserved semantic logic across two sentences and learned to generate short dialogues.

Machine Learning-Based Forecasting of Solar Power Generation for a Local Solar Power Station

Built short-term solar-power forecasting models using 1D-CNN and hybrid LSTM architectures on a 15-month dataset from two grid-connected solar plants (50 MW and 60 MW). Engineered and preprocessed meteorological and energy data with sliding historical windows. Compared input windows of 3, 7, 10, and 14 days using MSE, MAE, RRSE, and RAE; 1D-CNN slightly outperformed LSTM, with best results for...

Deep Learning-Driven ID Number Recognizer

Prepared a dataset of digits from Nazarbayev University ID cards using object detection and computer-vision morphological operations. Used a Keras Sequential Neural Network for ID number recognition and successfully predicted on test images.

Optimizing Heart Disease Prediction with Ensemble Learning

Used the Cleveland dataset for heart-disease prediction, applying feature and model selection and cross-validation to six classifiers. Built an ensemble from the best combination of three classifiers—KNN, Naive Bayes, and SVM—selected from 20 combinations.

Paper +

Team project that collected approximately 4.1 tons of waste paper from the graduate’s former NIS school and other Almaty state schools and delivered it to Kagazy Recycling, described as Kazakhstan’s largest paper processing plant.
