Abstract

The pieces devoted to the image of V.A. Perovsky, who was a famous Governor-General of the Orenburg Territory in past (XIX century) are considered in this paper. These pieces have survived in the folk instrumental music of the Kazakhs and Bashkirp. A musical and stylistic analysis of Kurmangazy dombra kyu "Perovsky march" and the piece of the same name for the Bashkir kurai was undertaken in order to identify intonational similarities and differences with the music of the Slavic peoplep. In their study, the author uses comparative-typological, comparative-historical, as well as system-ethnophonic (I. Matsievsky) methodp. In the comparative analysis of samples for the Kazakh dombra and the Bashkir kurai, the subject matter (figurative content), compositional structure, metro-rhythmic and modal-intonational features are considered. If the Kurmangazy kui, especially the first performance version, is created in the spirit of military marches of the XIX century (dotted rhythm, triplets are used), then the piece for kurai has more of a dance character. This research shows that the intonation connection with Russian-Ukrainian music can be presented in a latent (kui of Kurmangazy) and direct form, by using citation elements from Ukrainian gopak (dance) (a piece for the Bashkir kurai). An important role in this process belongs to the instruments, in this case, the Kazakh dombra and the Bashkir kurai. The peculiarities of their timbre greatly contribute to the fact that the sounding musical material acquires a national color.
