Abstract

This paper investigates the output tracking control problem for a class of switched nonlinear systems characterized by significant uncertainties and inherent timedelay effects. The system being studied is a switched system, which means it can switch between modes of operation and this switching depends on the state of the system. A novel output feedback control strategy is developed, incorporating a state estimator to reconstruct unmeasured system components. This controller employs various techniques, including something called the adding-a-power-integrator technique and it also takes into account the delay, in the systems response. Using a single Lyapunov function augmented with delay-dependent terms, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee global boundedness of all closed-loop signals and practical convergence of the tracking error to an arbitrarily small neighborhood of the origin. Numerical simulations on a two-mode nonlinear system with$\tau=0.1 ~\mathrm{s}$illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
